The Identity lessons help corps cadets to understand that their identity is determined by the Triune God. They will learn about our egalitarian DNA in The Salvation Army as well as how personality is part of our wiring and our God-given identity. And they will explore how we live out our God-given identity through holiness, based on God’s standard of holiness. We do this well when we love. Note: It is especially important to read the Leader Overview for this topic, as there are some suggestions for dealing with potentially difficult conversations within the topic of identity.

Featured Speaker: Captain Indrani Bhatnagar

The Resurrection lessons begin by looking at the biblical accounts of Jesus’s resurrection, helping corps cadets discover that this event is what makes Christianity stand out from all other religions. They will be introduced to the ministry of Kroc Centers and the Pathway of Hope program. Corps cadets will also learn the importance of fully including people with disabilities and think of ways to help people with disabilities feel welcome. And they will explore the importance of living a resurrection life now by understanding that resurrection is a past, present, and future reality.

Featured Speaker: Katie Seifu

The Church lessons give corps cadets a broad overview of the church beginning in Acts and an understanding of the purpose of church. They will explore The Salvation Army as a church and as part of the Holiness Movement. Corps cadets will learn from the leadership example of Jesus and how He used His authority. They will also learn about the universal Church, major branches, denominations, and The Salvation Army’s part in it all.

Featured Speaker: Joy Lee

The Marriage lessons help corps cadets understand God’s design for marriage: to reflect Christ’s love for the Church. They will explore the concept of partnership and mutual submission in marriage. Corps cadets will explore how to prepare for marriage before they are even dating, why dating is important, and what it means to be equally or unequally yoked. They will also discuss singleness, divorce, and marriage without children, learning that people in these categories are not second-rate citizens.

Featured Speaker: Captains Anthony & Lisa Barnes
